In this VladTV exclusive, former NBA player Matt Barnes returned to discuss a variety of sports topics. Starting off, the podcast host offered his thoughts on the scandal involving Boston Celtics head coach Ima Udoka, who received a year-long suspension for an affair with a team staffer. Barnes admitted to thinking the punishment was harsh until he heard the details of the controversy. He added that once the details are revealed, he'll be shocked if Udoka receives an NBA head coaching job again. Matt Barnes also talked about disgraced and soon-to-be ex-Suns owner Robert Sarver choosing to sell the team after an NBA probe exposed racist and sexist behavior. Gilbert Arenas came through for yet another VladTV interview, and this time around, he started off speaking about Kanye being ordered to pay Kim Kardashian $200,000 in child support, which led to a discussion about Gilbert’s experience with child support. Gilbert also addressed the recent controversies surrounding Kanye, which led to him getting dropped by Adidas. This led to Gilbert sharing his experience with getting dropped from the brand, and he also addressed Kyrie Irving being dropped from Nike. Other topics covered in the sit-down include Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless’ on-air argument, the Ime Udoka scandal with the Celtics, and Steve Nash being fired from the Nets. In this full-length interview, Nick Young shares his thoughts on Celtics coach Ime Udoka being suspended for one year after it was revealed that he was having an affair with a female staffer while engaged to Nia Long. Nick then revealed that he went through something similar, and he went on to state that he thinks Nia and Ime will work things out. He explained that it’s never about the woman, and Nick stated that sometimes men get “bored.” Nick then briefly touches on being related to Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem before talking about living in gang territory in South Central. From there, he talks about his mom moving him out to the valley and the awful experience of his older brother getting murdered by a member of the Bloods during his childhood. The murderer was only 15 years old at the time, so he got out of jail 10 years later, and when he did, he attempted to make things right with Nick and his family, but they refused. Moving along, Nick talks about essentially losing his second oldest brother to a nervous breakdown and a mental institution. Because of all the trauma, Nick decided to ditch school for the time being, unbeknownst to his parents, and play basketball at the park, where he honed his skills until they eventually found out. As the interview moves along, Nick recalls playing basketball in high school at Grover Cleveland Charter High School, being a standout college athlete at USC, and defeating a Texas Longhorns team led by Kevin Durant. He also talks about the "snitching scandal" with D'Angelo Russell during their tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers before reflecting on winning a championship with the Golden State Warriors. Lastly, he talks about getting arrested for obstruction of justice, celebrity boxing, Nate Robinson getting knocked out by Jake Paul, the wild exploits involving Blueface and Chrisean Rock, and more.
