Joseph Kay continues to let his hard work speak for itself. The former Livewire artist is hella not brand new to the frontline motion of Bay Area culture. From being recognized for his vocals to crafting beats and engineering tracks, Joseph Kay has paved the way for many, serving as a reminder to always keep pushing forward. This rising goat motivates others and consistently puts his team in winning positions like a real playmaker.
Coming from humble beginnings, Joseph Kay always had odds stacked against him. Musically gifted since day one, he was involved heavy in his parents' church choir and learned to play instruments at a young age. His passion for creating music fueled his ambition. Born in Iran, banned from the country, and later smuggled into Austria before immigrating to Turkey and finally arriving in the U.S. by force not choice. Joseph Kay’s journey is nothing short of extraordinary. His story, far from the typical "Project Baby" narrative, began when he came to America at six years old, unfamiliar with the language and customs he thrived through the culture shock. A piano, gifted to him on his first Christmas in the U.S., was the key that unlocked his potential, success, and lifelong passion for music.
In his early career with Livewire, Joseph Kay was known for singing hooks and being featured on numerous Bay Area projects. His contributions to the local music scene are undeniable. Under the mentorship of Bay Area legend Shady Nate, Joseph Kay was both in the field really in the lab cooking. A standout moment was his collaboration on "Ride Or Die" with Shady Nate, Bands From Da Rose, Slimmy B, and Remy Ozama (formerly Triggaboy Dee), which was shot and recorded while Remy Ozama was still in the pin. The song did numbers and made waves, further solidifying Joseph Kay’s dedication to the culture and work ethic.
Today, Joseph Kay has stepped out of the spotlight to focus on engineering, building hits from behind the scenes from his studio “Kayy Studios”. As the engineer and manager for some of Stockton’s EBK members, Joseph Kay’s name is buzzin again, proving that his influence on the game is far from over.
